Washington, DC – Representatives Claudia Tenney (NY-22) and Mike Thompson (CA-05) sent a letter with 87 of their House colleagues to the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee seeking discretionary funding to support the mission and operations carried out by Civil Air Patrol (CAP) in Fiscal Year 2022. Specifically, the bipartisan group of lawmakers are requesting $47.3 million for CAP’s operations and maintenance, $11.4 million for aircraft procurement, and $1.8 million for vehicle procurement.

WKTV -- New York will lose one seat in Congress as a result of national population shifts, according to new census data. The state’s delegation will shrink from 27 to 26. It is one of seven states losing a member of congress as a result of the 2020 census data released Monday.
One of the districts that was rumored to be on the chopping block was the 22nd District.
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, who represents the 22nd, believes with Congressman Tom Reed of the 23rd District not running again, that would help keep the 22nd intact and help other upstate districts grow.
