Our District

As a result of redistricting after the 2020 U.S. Census, Representative Claudia Tenney now has the honor of serving New York’s 24th Congressional district in the 119th Congress. Our sprawling district includes parts of 14 counties, spanning from the North Country, through Central New York, the Finger Lakes Region, and Western New York.

New York’s 24th District includes all Wayne County, Oswego County, Seneca County, Yates County, Ontario County, Livingston County, Orleans County, Wyoming County, Genesee County, almost all of Niagara County, the western half of Jefferson County, the northern half of Steuben County, Schuyler County, and Cayuga County.

Agriculture, manufacturing, and energy production comprise the backbone of our beautiful district. New York’s 24th District is among the largest agriculture districts in the Northeast, producing dairy, beef, crops, wine, apples, and much more. New York is the third-highest milk-producing state in the country, and many of those dairy farms are located in New York’s 24th District. According to the U.S. Agriculture Census, Wayne County ranks third in the nation for apple production. Hardworking farmers across NY-24 go to work every day to feed New York, America, and the world.

New York’s 24th District is also critical to our nation's energy production, being home to three nuclear power plants and four reactors. Studies show these power plants contribute over three billion dollars to New York’s GDP and help lower energy costs for New Yorkers and emissions for our nation. It is a clean, reliable, and safe form of energy generation that holds great promise for our future.

Our district also left its mark on history as the birthplace of the National Woman Suffrage Movement, and home of the First Women’s Rights Convention, which was attended by over 300 reformers. This includes great Americans like Lucretia Mott and Frederick Douglass. Spanning much of the length of Erie Canal, the district was essential to our nation’s economic growth. The canal paved the way for New York’s prosperity and our nation’s industrial expansion westward.

The Finger Lakes are a group of eleven north–south lakes located south of Lake Ontario. Ranging from four miles long to thirty-eight miles, the charming region hosts many local attractions and is the heart of New York’s wine industry. There are more than 100 wineries throughout the region.

Tourism also drives the 24th District. Known for its natural beauty, ranging from the Fingers Lakes in Cayuga County to the Thousands Islands in Jefferson County, our district attracts thousands of tourists from all over the country and around the world. In addition, the 14,427-acre Letchworth State Park, known as the "Grand Canyon of the East,’ is located in Livingston and Wyoming Counties.

Congresswoman Tenney resides in Cleveland, New York, located in Oswego County.
