Community Project Funding Requests FY27
The people and leaders of NY-24 understand their communities better than the bureaucrats in Washington. For years, outside special interests have had an outsized say in where federal dollars flow, leaving communities like NY-24 behind. That's why I'm a strong supporter of the Community Project Funding program, which puts taxpayer money back where it belongs: in the hands of the communities that need it.
I am fully committed to ensuring that every federal dollar secured for our region is managed with complete transparency and fiscal responsibility. As with all federal programs, Community Project Funding recipients are held to strict accountability and oversight standards.
The 20 projects I championed went through a thorough, deliberate process built on meaningful input from community stakeholders. My approach was guided by three clear, consistent priorities:
- Clear community backing and strong local partnerships;
- Tangible benefits to local areas, especially underserved communities; and
- A well-defined plan to use the funds promptly and for their intended purpose.
The projects I supported are listed below, each of which fell into one of four categories: (1) water infrastructure improvements; (2) providing and improving essential public facilities; (3) public safety; and (4) supporting economic development. For each of these awards, I will work with recipients to ensure these taxpayer funds are spent in the best interest of NY-24.
