Congressional Family Business Caucus

Across the United States there are 32.4 million family business, which generate 59% of American jobs and 54% of our gross domestic product. Yet despite their impact, family businesses are often overlooked and misunderstood.

The Congressional Family Business Caucus was created to fix this underrepresentation. First established in the 117th Congress, the Congressional Family Business Caucus seeks to educate Members of Congress about the contributions of family businesses collectively to the nation economy and individually to their local communities. This includes a wide array of businesses, small and large, from diverse industries based all over the nation.

The Caucus connects Members of Congress with family businesses in their district or home state and facilities meaningful discussions between business leaders and policy makers. In so doing, the Caucus builds awareness within Congress about the issues impacting family businesses, including workforce challenges, tax policy, economic issues, and community development. This ultimately helps support the creation of a regulatory landscape that is less burdensome and promotes entrepreneurship and free enterprise.

The Congressional Family Business Caucus is proudly bipartisan, with four Co-Chairs leading the charge: Rep. Jodey Arringon (R-TX-19), Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28), Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL-10), and Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY-24).
