Tenney Hosts Award Ceremony, Announces Winners of Congressional Art Competition

Utica, NY – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) today hosted an award ceremony at the Sculpture Gallery at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, where she announced the winners of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition for New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Tenney was joined by Anna D’Ambrosio, President & CEO of Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute. 

The first place winner, Gavin Schiavi, is a Senior at New Hartford High School. He submitted a work entitled, “Workshop Tools,” a colored pencil drawing. This work will be on display in the U.S. Capitol for one year along with winners from every other congressional district in the United States.

Tenney also recognized the Second, Third, and Fourth place winners:

Congratulations are also in order for our second place winner, Alexis of Thomas R. Proctor High School, our third place winner Kara of Whitesboro High School, and our fourth place winner Kylee of Adirondack Central High School. Competition was strong this year and each of these talented artists should be proud of their tremendous achievements. Thank you to all the students who participated in this year’s competition.”
