Tenney Backs Resolution Slamming Biden Administration’s Open Border Policies
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) yesterday joined with Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) to introduce a resolution expressing support for U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents, who are facing an unprecedented border crisis. The resolution also condemns the Biden Administration for politicizing the agency, which it did most recently when it falsely accused border agents on horseback of attacking migrants.
This resolution cites the successful efforts of border patrol agents in combating the drug, crime, and humanitarian crises that are symptoms of the greater border crisis that has resulted from the Biden Administration’s open border policies. Specifically, the resolution mentions the 56 suspected terrorists detained by border agents, the more than one million pounds of drugs seized, and the more than three million encounters with illegal migrants under the Biden Administration.
The full text of the resolution is available here.
Biden’s Border Crisis by the numbers:
- Over 3.1 million migrants have been apprehended at the Southern Border since Biden took office;
- 207,416 migrants were encountered at the Southern Border in June 2022—an increase of 527% from the last June of President Trump’s administration;
- More than 500,000 known “got-aways” at the Southern Border since October 2021;
- So far in fiscal year 2022 (FY22), 8,400 pounds of fentanyl have been seized by Border Patrol, already double the total for all of fiscal year 2020 (FY20).
