Congresswoman Tenney Reveals Biden Administration SBTi Corruption, Proposed Rule Would Funnel Money into Left-Wing Dark Money Groups

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) today revealed deep corruption surrounding the Biden administration’s proposed rule requiring companies to contract with Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), a subsidiary of left-wing dark money groups, at today’s Science, Space, and Technology Oversight Subcommittee Hearing.

The largest owner of SBTi, a UK-based organization formed in June 2023, is the We Mean Business Coalition. The We Mean Business Coalition is a project of the New Venture Fund, which is owned and managed by Arabella Advisors, a philanthropic consulting firm known for its association with left-leaning donors like George Soros, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Michael Bloomberg, and the American Federation of Teachers. By forcing companies to contract with SBTi, the subsidiary of this left-wing dark money web, the Biden administration is de facto forcing companies to contribute to this dark money network to support the radical left’s agenda.

“The Biden administration has proposed forcing companies to use SBTi, as opposed to any other climate group, to support their left-wing dark money laundering scheme,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “It should come as no surprise that the beneficiaries of this corruption are Democrat mega-donors, using their wealth to bankroll policies that work to support expanding the Supreme Court, partisan gerrymandering, defunding our military, abortion on demand, and more. I remain committed to getting to the bottom of this network of corruption and preventing this dark money chain from funding left-wing priorities.

"While today's hearing was a great starting point," continued Tenney, "I urge Chairman Lucas to issue a subpoena for the Chair of the Council on Environmental Quality, Brenda Mallory. Chair Mallory declined to attend today's hearing despite being the only individual who can testify why SBTi was chosen. The American people will never know the truth until Chair Mallory is brought before the committee."
