Congresswoman Tenney Releases Statement on CBP's Plan to Evaluate Cloverleaf for New Station
Cleveland, NY – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) today made the following statement on U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) plan to evaluate Cloverleaf for a new CBP station.
In September, Tenney sent a letter to Joseph Zidron, the Director of the Real Property Program Management Office in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, recommending they consider Cloverleaf as the alternate site for a new CBP Station in Jefferson County.
"The decision to evaluate Cloverleaf as a potential site for a new CBP station in Jefferson County brings us one step closer to finding a solution that has support from our community and advances CBP's crucial mission," said Congresswoman Tenney. "Our team and I have worked tirelessly with community members and CBP leadership to discuss potential sites for this new facility to ensure CBP has the space they need to properly and efficiently do their jobs and that it does not hinder our district's natural beauty. In September, I sent a letter to CBP, urging them to consider this site proposed by the Thousand Island Bridge Authority. I am eager to see that CBP has taken into consideration the opinions of the community and is evaluating the Cloverleaf site. I look forward to working with the CBP and Jefferson County to find the best possible site for this proposed station, and I want to thank the hardworking men and women of CBP once again for their service to our nation."
