Congresswoman Tenney Releases 2026 Energy and Environment Plan to Lower Costs and Strengthen American Energy
Oswego, NY — Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) today released her 2026 Energy and Environment Plan, outlining her priorities to lower energy costs, expand reliable American energy production, strengthen energy security, and protect New York’s natural resources through commonsense conservation.
New York families and businesses face high energy costs as the state pursues mandates that restrict traditional energy production and place additional demands on the electric grid. Rep. Tenney’s plan calls for expanding domestic oil and natural gas production, supporting nuclear, hydroelectric, biofuel, and emerging energy technologies, securing American critical mineral supply chains, and preserving consumer choice. It also pairs reliable and affordable energy with responsible environmental stewardship by supporting conservation of the Finger Lakes and Great Lakes, improving water infrastructure and reuse, strengthening weather forecasting, and expanding recycling and local recreation opportunities.
“Upstate New Yorkers should not have to choose between heating their homes and feeding their families because Albany Democrats continue to pursue an unrealistic energy agenda,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “We have abundant natural resources, innovative technologies, and hardworking Americans ready to produce the reliable energy our families and businesses need. My Energy and Environment Plan takes a practical approach that lowers costs, unleashes American energy production, strengthens our grid, and protects the beautiful natural resources that make Upstate and Western New York such a special place to live. Affordable, reliable energy and responsible environmental stewardship can and should go hand in hand.”
