Congresswoman Tenney Reintroduces the Remembering Our Local Heroes Act
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) today, alongside Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), reintroduced the Remembering Our Local Heroes Act to direct the Secretary of the Interior to establish a grant program to provide funding for memorials honoring veterans, law enforcement officers, and firefighters.
"Our veterans, first responders, and law enforcement officers embody the very best of our nation, and we must honor their courage and selflessness. This includes preserving local memorials, which serve as powerful reminders of these heroes' legacies and sacrifices. The Remembering Our Local Heroes Act ensures that communities in New York and across the country have the resources needed to maintain and restore these tributes for future generations," said Congresswoman Tenney.
“First responders, members of the military, and all those who have served our nation deserve to be honored and remembered for their service and sacrifice. This bipartisan legislation will help communities in New Hampshire and across the country build, maintain, and restore memorials honoring our heroes, ensuring that they will never be forgotten,” said Congressman Pappas.
