Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) today issued the following joint statement with House Small Business Committee Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer on her appointment as Ranking Member of the House Small Business Subcommittee on Underserved, Agricultural, and Rural Business Development.

“I am honored to serve as Ranking Member for the House Small Business Committee Subcommittee on Underserved, Agricultural, and Rural Business Development. Since joining this important subcommittee last year, it has been a privilege to advocate for our nation’s family farms and rural small businesses. As Ranking Member, I look forward to working together with Chairman Golden and others to drive meaningful results for the largely rural and agricultural communities I represent. I also want to thank Ranking Member Luetkemeyer for his support. With his steadfast leadership, I am confident we will continue to support our family farms and restore prosperity and opportunity to so many rural and underserved communities that have been left behind,” said Tenney.

“America’s rural communities are a critical part of this country’s economy,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer. “Ensuring these small businesses receive the help and support they need to succeed is essential to a healthy economy.”

“Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is the champion rural and underserved communities need. I have full confidence in her ability to represent and serve in their best interest as the new Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Underserved, Agricultural, and Rural Business Development.”

Tenney is a longtime small business owner. She was the co-owner and legal counsel to Mid-York Press, Inc., a commercial printing and manufacturing firm started by her grandfather in 1946. Mid-York Press currently employs nearly 70 people in the Chenango County community of Sherburne.
