Congresswoman Tenney Demands Accountability for Anti-Semitic Video Linked to NYSED Website

October 23, 2023

Washington, DC– Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) today led the New York Republican Congressional delegation in sending a letter to New York State Board of Regents Chancellor Lester W. Young Jr. and New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Commissioner Betty A. Rosa calling for those who approved the pervasive anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist video linked to the NYSED website to be held accountable.

Cosigners of the letter include Representatives Nick LaLota (NY-01), Andrew Garbarino (NY-02), Anthony D’Esposito (NY-04), Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Michael Lawler (NY-17), Marc Molinaro (NY-19), Elise Stefanik (NY-21), Brandon Williams (NY-22), and Nick Langworthy (NY-23).

“By recently posting a link with a blatantly anti-Semitic video on the history of the conflict in Israel, the Board of Regents and NYSED have contributed to the widespread disinformation being promoted to our children about the ongoing Israel-Hamas war,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “Today, I lead my New York Republican colleagues in sending a letter to the Board of Regents and NYSED demanding they answer for promoting this blatant anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist rhetoric and apologize to parents for this vile video. The United States must continue to stand with our Israeli and Jewish brothers and sisters, and that starts by teaching our children factual history about this conflict and emphasizing the blatant anti-Semitism behind these horrific attacks.”
