Congresswoman Tenney Applauds Texas for Adopting Commonsense Election Reforms
Washington, DC - Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22), co-chair of the House Election Integrity Caucus, today issued the following statement applauding Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas legislature for passing legislation to strengthen election security.
“After a long fight and massive disinformation campaign led by President Biden and others on the left, Texas Governor Greg Abbott finally signed a critical election integrity bill into law. As co-chair of the House Election Integrity Caucus, I commend Governor Abbott and the Texas legislature for doing the right thing and fighting to protect every Texan’s sacred right to vote. SB-1’s commonsense, widely supported provisions to strengthen voter ID and end ballot harvesting will restore faith in the democratic process in Texas.
“The left continues to pedal the false narrative that election reforms are an assault on democracy, but this rhetoric is out of touch with reality. It did not work in Georgia, it did not work in Texas and it will not work in other states looking to secure their elections,” Tenney said. “The American people overwhelmingly support commonsense election safeguards like voter ID. Responsible elected officials across the country must be unified in their mission of making it easier to vote and much harder to cheat.”
