Congresswoman Tenney Announces $1 Million Grant for Greater Binghamton Airport
Washington, DC - Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) announced the Department of Transportation has formally approved a $1 million grant for the Greater Binghamton Airport through the Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP). The funding will be used to support a new air service to the Washington, DC area and fund associated marketing for the new service.
In March, Tenney penned a letter to the US Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg asking the transportation agency to approve the airport's grant application to establish this new flight for travelers.
"I was honored to support this funding request earlier in the year and am grateful to announce it has now been approved. This grant will help the Binghamton Airport provide new flights for the community, which will fuel our economy and boost tourism across the Southern Tier. I look forward to working with the Greater Binghamton Airport, Broome County, and others in our region to build on this momentum and continue expanding opportunity here at home."
