Congresswoman Tenney: The American People Have Spoken, They Do Not Want a Socialist Takeover

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) released the following statement after Americans across the country overwhelmingly rejected a socialist takeover of our government.

"Last night, Biden-backed candidates lost at the polls and big government agenda items were rejected in states across the country, including New York where unconstitutional ballot measures to weaken our elections were voted down. Our great Nation was founded on the consent of the governed and that remains true today. The American people have spoken, and they do not want a socialist takeover of our economy, nor do they want far-left policies driving education and dictating our way of life. 

"To say this was a referendum is an understatement. Considering these events, it would be unconscionable for Speaker Pelosi to drive forward with her tax and spend agenda. Pelosi would be ill-advised to ignore the American people, who have rejected her hyper-partisan tactics and far-left socialist policies."
