Congresswoman Claudia Tenney Supports Resolution Reaffirming the Rights of Concerned Parents

October 28, 2021

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) joined Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-50) in introducing a resolution in Congress that reiterates unwavering support for the First Amendment rights of parents seeking to play a role in their children’s education.

“The recent weaponization of the Department of Justice against concerned parents is alarming and strikes at the heart of our constitutional rights and protections. Parents should always be able to play a role in their child’s education and attempts to reduce parental participation or silence parents from expressing their concerns are wrong and un-American. I’m honored to introduce this resolution to stand with parents across America who are speaking out against the political indoctrination of our children.”

A copy of the resolution can be found here.

Tenney recently sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland expressing her concern regarding a memorandum he issued ordering law enforcement to more closely monitor parents who have expressed concerns about critical race theory and other policies in school.
