Congresswoman Claudia Tenney Issues Statement on Biden's Budget Proposal

Washington, DC - Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) today released the following statement after President Joe Biden released his Fiscal Year 2022 budget proposal outlining $6 trillion in federal spending. This record level of spending exceeds any budget proposed by a president since World War II. 

"President Biden’s Budget proposal is economic malpractice. At a time when we need to focus on our recovery by empowering small businesses and supporting families, the Biden Budget does the opposite. It’s big government at its worst, with more taxes, greater regulation, and unprecedented spending that will drive our nation toward a grave economic future. 

"President Biden’s $6 trillion budget will lead to the highest debt to GDP ratio in our country’s history. The plan underfunds our military, eliminates tax cuts for middle class families and retroactively raises taxes on small businesses. Consumers will end up paying more across the board. 

"Unemployment is already up, inflation has risen by 4.2%, and the U.S. economy has been crippled by massive government spending. The Biden Budget continues to move our country in the wrong direction. It will derail our recovery and do irreparable harm to our economic freedoms and prosperity."
