Congresswoman Claudia Tenney Blasts Biden's Georgia Speech on Partisan Election Reform Bills

January 11, 2022

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) today released the following statement in response to President Joe Biden's speech in Georgia on partisan election reform bills. Tenney is the founder and Co-Chair of the House Election Integrity Caucus in Congress, which has more than 60 members. It is the only congressional caucus laser focused on safeguarding the integrity of the democratic process and improving the administration of elections.

"President Biden is now resurrecting his already failed attempt to federalize our elections, ban voter ID, mandate ballot harvesting, and give away your taxpayer dollars to political campaigns. This unconstitutional, partisan power grab would open the floodgates for ineligible votes to be counted. It puts all of America on a path toward expanding the right to vote for non-citizens, just like we are seeing in New York City. Together, H.R. 1 and H.R. 4 would be a disaster for election integrity. As Co-Chair of the House Election Integrity Caucus, I will continue fighting to hold the line and stop these unconstitutional bills from becoming law.

“If President Biden wants to talk about election integrity, he should visit New York, where Democrat policies continue to undermine voter confidence and election security. My most recent congressional race took more than 100 days to resolve because serious errors were exposed that needed to be corrected. Last year, over 135,000 sample ballots were accidentally posted as results in New York City. And then, of course, non-citizens were just unconstitutionally extended the right to vote in New York City. I am still waiting for your speech about all that, Mr. President."
