Congresswoman Claudia Tenney Applauds Louisiana Legislature for Advancing Bill to Ban "Zuckerbucks"
Washington, DC - Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) co-chair of the House Election Integrity Caucus, released the following statement applauding the Louisiana State Legislature for advancing a bill that prohibits the use and influence of private donations from interfering in political elections.
“I commend the Louisiana State Legislature for recently passing a bill to prohibit private donors from interfering in elections. I urge the Governor of Louisiana to sign this commonsense bill into law, which is something other states should consider as well.
"Allowing private donors with political agendas to fund elections threatens the integrity of the process and increases the potential for undue outside influence, which is the last thing we need in our elections. In the 2020 election, Mark Zuckerberg shelled out $350 million to local election officials, much of which went to Democrat-leaning counties. The right to vote is sacred and the administration of our elections is not something that should not be sold to the highest bidder. "Zuckerbucks" have no place in American elections.”
