February 11, 2021

Washington, D.C. – Claudia Tenney today took her oath of office as the U.S. Representative of New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Congresswoman Tenney issued the following statement:

"It is a privilege to again represent New York’s 22nd District in the House of Representatives. Many of the families and small businesses I represent are struggling and need relief. My priority in Congress is to advance policies that restore opportunity and bring prosperity back to our region.”

“Our country faces many challenges, and it is critically important that Congress works together to find solutions that help seniors, working families and small businesses. I will continue to be a compassionate advocate for my community and as I take my oath today, I am proud to reaffirm the bipartisan commitment to civility I first took as a member of Congress in 2017. I look forward to working with my colleagues to promote constructive discourse and positive leadership for our Nation.”

The 22nd District of New York spans all or part of eight counties in upstate New York and includes the cities of Utica, Rome, Cortland, and Binghamton. Congresswoman Tenney previously represented the 22nd District in the 115th Congress. In 2017, Congresswoman Tenney joined with her freshman colleagues in signing the “Commitment to Civility,” which underscored the importance of modeling civility and positive leadership in public service.
