WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-22, New Hartford, and Elise Stefanik R-21, Schuylerville, have penned a letter to the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee supporting federal funding for the Air Force Research Laboratory (Rome Lab) Information Directorate’s Fiscal Year 2022 defense appropriations request.

The request, according to an announcement by the two upstate Republican lawmakers seeks:

$10 million for a quantum network computing testbed;

Members of Congress convicted of corruption should be legally prohibited from receiving taxpayer money. This is simple common sense, as even Congress itself agrees. Yet federal bureaucrats have stymied efforts to make it so.

After several high-profile scandals involving politicians, the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act (HLOGA) of 2007 specified corruption-related crimes that would lead to the loss of a lawmaker’s congressional pension. Additional crimes were added to the list in 2012 by the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act.

New York 22nd District Representative Claudia Tenney didn't pull any punches in a social media posting, sharing her feelings about the recent reversal of a Trump Administration policy often referred to as 'remain in Mexico.'

The New Hartford Republican slammed President Biden, saying 'his failed policies and lack of leadership' have caused the crisis at America's southwest border, and believes the new administration's decision to end 'remain in Mexico' will only make the situation worse.

Proposed legislation from U.S. Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-New Hartford, would create a federal program to assist in the construction, restoration and maintenance of memorials. 

The Remembering Our Local Heroes Act would fund eligible monuments honoring veterans, active-duty military personnel, law enforcement and firefighters. A grant program would provide grants as much as $100,000 to applicants demonstrating strong community support and secure matching funds from public and private sources.

A year after the pandemic wiped out the beloved annual tradition, Whitesboro held its Memorial Day parade Monday to honor those who died in the armed forces.

Hundreds lined Main Street to watch the procession, which included the Oneida County Sherriff's Department, the Whitesboro Fire Department, local Boy and Cub Scout troops, veterans groups and elected officials such as Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente and Asssemblywoman Marriane Buttenschon.

UTICA — Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-22, New Hartford presented the families of veterans Pvt. James E. Overturf and Pvt. Charles A. Wells with Purple Heart medals posthumously in recognition of their service to our nation during World War I in a ceremony on Friday. Both Overturf and Wells served in the Army.
