Tenney unveils tax plan
Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-22, New Hartford, unveiled a plan to empower families and support small businesses in New York.
Among its merits, Tenney said is that the proposed plan would build on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed by Congress in 2017. In addition, the plan seeks to protect taxpayers and revitalize communities, she said.
“I have always fought for the taxpayers of New York and believe that for America to remain a competitive and free nation, Congress must support our nation’s communities and economic development by expanding on the successes of the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. So far this year, Democrats have offered a range of new bills, including the most recent infrastructure and reconciliation bills, that will target New Yorkers with burdensome and punitive taxes. I will continue fighting for a tax code that restores our region’s economic dynamism and empowers families,” she said in a statement.
According to previous statements from President Joe Biden, the administration has limited proposed tax increases to those earning $400,000 or more.
