Congresswoman Claudia Tenney to Host Webinar for Local Officials on the Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) today announced she is hosting a virtual seminar with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for local fire departments and officials. The session will provide an overview of the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program and review best practices for applications. AFG applications are due December 17, 2021, by 5:00pm.
The AFG program provides much-needed assistance to firefighters and first responders, helping them fund training operations or obtain equipment and vehicles. The program is administrated by FEMA. Since 2001, FEMA has made 2,220 awards worth more than $710 million.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with FEMA representatives about the program and ask questions about the application process. Interested participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance to ensure the presentation can be tailored to specific areas of interest.
