Binghamton, NY—Today, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) visited the First Ward Senior Center to highlight the unique challenges facing the senior citizen community. Throughout recent months, Rep. Tenney has visited senior centers to discuss issues impacting seniors throughout the 22nd District, including Social Security and Medicare.

“It was great to tour the First Ward Senior Center and sit down with residents to discuss the issues that impact Upstate New York seniors, particularly Social Security and Medicare. While there, I discussed the many ways our office can provide assistance to seniors in navigating the federal government’s bureaucracy. It is important our senior’s voices are heard, and I will continue my advocacy in Congress to protect and strengthen Medicare and Social Security,” said Rep. Tenney.

In Congress, Rep. Tenney has fought to strengthen and preserve Social Security and Medicare. She voted in support of the Protecting Seniors’ Access to Medicare Act (H.R. 849). The bill passed the House with bipartisan support.
