Tenney Announces Over $989K for Trade Adjustment Assistance Center in Binghamton
Binghamton, NY—Today, Rep. Claudia Tenney (NY-22), announced a $989,487.90 grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for the Trade Adjustment Assistance Center in Binghamton, New York. The Trade Adjustment Assistance Center provides financial assistance to manufacturers affected by import competition.
“As the owner of a small manufacturing firm, I understand firsthand the hardships that businesses throughout our region face on a daily basis. In Upstate New York, our manufacturing industry has seen a decline,” said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney. “This important grant will provide technical assistance to manufacturing and production firms affected by import competition to help them regain competitiveness, increase profitability and create jobs.”
Throughout the month of August, Rep. Tenney spoke with business owners and their employees, toured manufacturing facilities and met with Chambers of Commerce, focusing on restoring economic opportunity and competitiveness and growing the economy through job creation.
EDA grants are awarded through a competitive process based upon the application’s merit, the applicant’s eligibility, and the availability of funds. More information on EDA’s grant process and investment process can be found at www.eda.gov.
