Congresswoman Claudia Tenney Attends Signing Ceremony at White House of The VA Mission Act
Washington, DC— Today, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) attended the signing ceremony in the White House Rose Garden of The VA Mission Act of 2018. The bill streamlines veterans’ access to non-Veterans Affairs (VA) community care, creates a new VA benefit of commercial walk-in clinics, and opens up the VA caregiver program, on a phased schedule, to older generations of veterans severely injured while in service. This legislation will transform the VA into a modern, high-performing, and integrated healthcare system that will ensure our veterans receive the best healthcare possible.
“Today, I was honored to stand next to President Trump as he took action to provide access to high quality care for those who have answered the call to serve. As the mother of an active duty U.S. Marine and Representative of a district with a large veteran’s population, it is among my top priorities to ensure that our veterans have access to the care they deserve and need. This bill will create a culture of accountability at the VA. It’s time to ensure our veterans who have made the selfless sacrifice to bravely serve our great nation, receive the most efficient, highest quality of care possible,” said Rep. Tenney.
