ICYMI: Congresswoman Tenney Provides NY-24 Constituents with Information and Resources During the Democrat-led Shutdown

October 10, 2025

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) released information and resources to assist constituents impacted by the ongoing Democrat-led government shutdown. She also announced the launch of a Government Shutdown Resources page on her official website, providing direct links, updates, and casework assistance for residents navigating federal agency disruptions.

Under federal law, many essential programs, including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, VA care, SNAP benefits, and mail delivery, will continue uninterrupted, though some services such as passport processing and National Park access may experience delays. The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has also expired due to Senate inaction, halting new policies and renewals.

Despite the shutdown, Rep. Tenney’s offices remain fully open to assist constituents with any issues involving these programs or other federal agencies. The new online resource page outlines which services remain operational, which may face disruption, and how residents can request assistance directly through her office. While many departments are operating with reduced staff, Tenney’s team continues to submit casework and advocate on behalf of NY-24.

“House Republicans passed a clean, responsible bill to keep the government open and serving the American people,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “Senate Democrats chose to block it, forcing a shutdown that is hurting families, seniors, and small businesses across New York. Our offices remain open and ready to help constituents get the answers and assistance they need. This new resource page will keep residents informed until Democrats end this unnecessary shutdown.”
